Nigeria’s newest indigenous e-commerce platform, Saleko, has launched with an activation event across major areas of Lagos, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Saleko, the platform aims to bring the traditional Lagos market experience online by offering features like price comparison, bargaining, and bulk purchasing.
The company stated that these capabilities are designed to replicate Nigeria’s vibrant market environment, allowing users to shop locally produced and globally sourced goods from home.
Saleko noted that it provides flexible payment and delivery options, with customers able to choose doorstep delivery or pick-up from designated locations.
The company added that the platform gives users access to products from markets across Nigeria, enhancing the shopping experience for both local and international buyers.
“Saleko is deeply committed to empowering Nigerian entrepreneurs, providing a robust platform for local merchants to showcase their products and grow their customer base. That’s why we have built strategic partnerships with Lagos State.”
The platform stated that the Employment Trust Fund will onboard Lagos-based sellers and drive impactful capacity-building training for merchants, as well as work with Addosser Microfinance Bank to provide sellers access to working capital loans.
“These partnerships reflect Saleko’s commitment to the community, as we are not only bringing merchants online but also empowering them with the skills and resources they need to thrive in the digital economy,” it stated.
